Generation Speakers

May 21, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Today on LinkedIn I noticed something I’d never seen before: a speaker using recommendations from his LinkedIn profile to pitch himself for corporate guest speaker opportunities.

As more and more speakers have a web presence, it’s inevitable that they’ll end up with their own myspace and facebook pages, too (Keith Ferrazzi makes great use of Facebook, as you might expect). These sites are a great way to get the word out about your specialties and it can also showcase your speaker video as well as testimonials and your biography; I’m sure we’ll see more and more of this as the next generation of Millennial speakers start booking more dates.

Speaking of which, there are a bunch of great speakers out there who can address generational differences. So if one of the challenges your company is facing is teamwork between the boomers and the Gen Xers, check out Maddy Dychtwald and Eric Chester. I also like the work that Bridgeworks has been doing, and they have some updated programs with Lynn Lancaster and David Stillman out now.
